Potato Jan 2010: Translation (Nino)
Dec. 16th, 2009 12:07 amOnce again Nino speaks with such eloquence. This one was fun to translate, and I'm learning a lot of new kanji *cheers*

Please don't take this out of my journal without my permission.
DO NOT claim these as your own. I spend a lot of time translating these, please be respectful.
Please keep in mind that this interview was taken at the end of October. Nino references to a lot of things that have already happened, don't get confused lol
Enjoy!
Our 10th anniversary is already perfect!
[2009 – 3 big news]
It’s got to be our 10th anniversary, and doing the tour around the domes, and that I did a play which I haven’t done for a while. First, Arashi’s 10 year anniversary was big. There was the “Arashi Challenge Week” with Nihon Television, but honestly we got congratulations from a lot of people. I’m really thankful that everyone is saying, “Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary!” I’ve also gotten a lot of “Has it already been 10 years since Arashi debuted?” too. (laugh) We received a lot of congratulations in different forms, but when I heard about the plan how during our “Arashi Challenge Week” we were going to appear on television for 50 hours, my only thoughts were “that is so cool!” (laugh) When I could watch the shows that the other members were guests on, I did. The “Guruguru Ninety Nine” (Gurunai) that I did with Taichi-san was really fun. I don’t often do dramas with Nihon Television, so doing promotions on Nihon Television for the first time was refreshing.
Although we started our concert tour at Kokuritsu, I’m really glad we were able to do three days there. On the last day it rained, but the most important thing is that we were able to do those three days peacefully. Our Osaka and Fukuoka dome tours are done, and next is Sapporo (interview was done at the end of October). Every time we do a concert, we have fun. It’s best when us really having fun is transferred to the fans, and then we can have fun together.
Relating to my play “Strangers on a Train”, I feel like it’s been a long time since I last did a play, so I thought I’d add it to the three big news of 2009. Well, from the side of the viewer, it probably had a suspense-like sense of tension, but from the side of the actor, it felt like the fun of doing a regular stage play. If someone came to see it, their name was posted up in the dressing room, so I was able to understand who was coming. All of the members, senpai and kouhai from the company, and lots of friends who are actors/actresses came. The members won’t say their thoughts on it though (laugh).
[Looking back on the year 2009]
{More than to comment on the February issue of 2009, I want to think of something appropriate for our 10 year anniversary since debut. There aren’t really individual plans, but I want to think as the whole of Arashi}
That meaning, the feeling of accomplishment is 100% (laugh). A punctuation to our 10 years is due somewhere, but if we do it on our debut day of November 3rd, isn’t it already perfect? (laugh)
[Current State]
It’s almost the start of shooting for the movie. “Gantz”, you know, the original manga isn’t yet concluded, so it’s hard to explain the contents, and I can’t talk about it in full detail. Well, my manager said it’s an action movie, so I’ll go with that (laugh). My role? (As it says in the script) Like a beautiful child-faced young man (laugh). The Genno that I play is rebellious in a way, in the middle of a grand situation, what is normal? Isn’t that area the highlight? There are a lot of fans of the original work, and if it becomes a film where we shoot it on the spot, there will be lots of people voicing about how the image is different, but I don’t worry about a world where if we shoot it on the spot, it will become like that. This is the first time that I’ve met (co-worker) Matsuyama Kenichi-kun. He’s a really nice and good person. Up until now we’ve met numerous times, but it’s always been that impression. It seems like the period when we shot has mostly come together. Christmas? I’m usually doing work. Firstly, I don’t understand the implication of Christmas (laugh). I’ll give something to Aiba-kun on his birthday!
