A revelation of some sorts...
Nov. 2nd, 2009 11:33 amWell actually I've spent quite a bit of time this morning chatting with
remiixx over texts. We started talking about k-pop and.. the "state" that it's in right now, with all this shit everywhere.
I am gonna get this out in the open, although I'm sure most of you have noticed by my lack of posts abt it:
TBH, I am completely sick of k-pop at the moment. It's just too much drama and shit for me. I just want everyone to get along, but all this crap with 2PM, DBSK, Suju... ETC ETC (AKA EVERYTHING)
I AM SICK OF IT.
To the point where I don't even really want to care anymore. I still like DBSK, don't get me wrong. I just don't want to deal with it. I am sick of hearing netizens complain. I am sick of hearing about car accidents. I am sick of hearing about ANTI'S, and yes.. I will say it. I really think that K-pop and some of their fans are extremely superficial and I really don't want to deal with that. (I am not talking about any of you lovely ladies on my f-list-- more people I have encountered and most Korean fans (they scare the shit out of me)
I still like a lot of the music. I keep up to date about information and stuff (thanks
omonatheydidnt), but I just...
I'm done.
If you are one of the people who friended me because I was in the k-pop fandom and you don't really want to hear me posting about Arashi anymore, then you are welcome to de-friend me.
Is there a chance I'll get back into the fandom? Sure, but I just want some sanity for a while.
Arashi and their fans make me sane. When I think about the Arashi fandom, I think, "Why can't the rest of the world get along like them?"

Date: 2009-11-02 06:23 pm (UTC)I think the last straw for me was when netizens started freaking out about Family Outing. *sigh*

Date: 2009-11-02 08:24 pm (UTC)WHY DOES IT EVEN MATTER OMG. Just live with it. Or stop watching the damn show.

Date: 2009-11-02 06:24 pm (UTC)All I know about Kpop is that Big Bang guy got into a car accident, Kangin is a drunk driver, and some dude got in trouble for something that happened years ago.
I saw a Kpop hate meme once, and it was really nasty and scary! @__@
All I need to be content is Kanjani8 and ARASHI, ARASHI, FOR DREAM~
^____^

Date: 2009-11-02 08:28 pm (UTC)and yes. When they want to be nasty, some of the things that kpop fans say (especially when anonymous, but even when they're NOT) is really hateful, terrible things.
Yay Arashi ♥

Date: 2009-11-02 06:28 pm (UTC)I can't even tell you how much I agree with this. D: I think I've never seen a fandom in which more fans were fighting over which band is the best or which member from a certain band is the best or just... general all the shit rumors and stalking and idk. D8
There are some really awesome fans in the kpop-fandom, but a lot are just so rude and... idk. :/

Date: 2009-11-02 08:32 pm (UTC)It's going to happen if you have a 13 member boy band.
I like how Arashi doesn't have competitions over who is the most popular, who should get the most air time, etc. They all have their own special times and unique moments that they can share with the fans, as separate individuals and as a group.
no subject
Date: 2009-11-02 08:39 pm (UTC)Yeah exactly.. (x x); I mean, they can't possibly split up the screen time equally with 13 members, especially not if you have super-loud-always-talking-Heechul in the middle of them XD;
But tbh I think it's even worse for the SHINee-fandom -- I've never seen so many stupid fans in one fandom, really. Especially all the hate between Jonghyun and Onew fans just simply pisses me off because they have both great voices and belong to the band and then fans go all "JJONG SHOULD LEAVE SHINEE" "NO ONEW SHOULD HE'S A WORTHLESS LEADER ANYWAY" and I really just want to tell them to go stfu sometimes. D8
Or the whole 2PM-shit when netizens stalked for comments that Jay made years ago, or the DBSK-shit now, and hdosuahdoush it all just makes me SO angry *rants forever*
I'm just sad I can hardly watch any subbed Arashi-stuff anymore because there are no YT-subbers and I can't download anything (T - T) Stupid connection that takes 8 hours for one episode of an Arashi-show to load. DDDDDD:
But that is exactly what made me love Arashi so much - you can feel that they and their fans belong together, and there's hardly anyone who starts drama in Arashi-fandom because it is just not wanted. *laugh*

Date: 2009-11-02 07:03 pm (UTC)i really wanna watch jdrama again and get into arashi's tv shows (when i find a good place to dl from and when i'm not too lazy to do it) because i was srsly much more HAPPY in the jpop fandom. in kpop it's like...i'm just reading about ~scandals~ lol. T-T idk. i'm not giving up complete hope i guess i'm just not really much of a huge fan of anything right now. i guess i never was a HUGE obsessed fan (except i was pretty obsessed with arashi but that's cuz theyre amazing) of anything but i still enjoyed being a semi-fangirl! now im like meh...

I don't really know anything about Kpop besides DBSK, but it really does sound intense. This came up in one of the very random Project5x10 chats today too ^^; But then again...even some Arashi fans can be very, veeeery nasty too. But anyway, I think it's good to stay away from something that makes you this frustrated. :D

Date: 2009-11-03 07:53 am (UTC)あ~気にしないでね♥
It really is intense. And I know some Arashi fans can be crazy as well, but.. like I was saying to someone else... there's just so much fewer numbers of them it's so easy to ignore them, and the sane Arashi fangirls don't make a gigantic huge problem w/ it (which in turn doesn't fuel the fire)

Date: 2009-11-02 07:38 pm (UTC)Arashi has crazy fans too, being in the fandom for some time, I've encountered here and there a few 'strange people' but as you said nothing really big happens and I'm really glad about that. The only real big thing I remember is the KT-Arashi confluict that arose some time back but it has calmed down already.
About 'sane' XD I have a good friend, who wouldn't agree with that LOL We were in Japan this Aug and she wanted to get the limited edition of the 5x10 album and it was sold out in one day, she was so pissed cuz she couldn't make it in the morning and it was already sold out when we got to HMV and several other stores after 5pm haha~
no subject
Date: 2009-11-02 08:37 pm (UTC)And don't get me wrong, I am of course aware that there are lots of "crazy" Arashi fans, but imo there's so much less of them comparatively, that it's so much easier to just ignore them and continue on with your life. I mean, when you have enough people who just hate someone to hate them that you give that group a NAME (aka anti's), then you have a problem. I mean, these people try to KILL celebrities/fans/etc. It's ridiculous.
As for the 5x10 LE.. well, that was sold out about a month before it was even released. All the copies went to those who preordered it. I was lucky enough to pre-order it early and got myself a 1st press ed. ^^
Also.. what was the whole KT-Arashi thing? Was that were Jun ragged on Jin? rofl.. cuz if so, good for Jun cuz Jin is just.. a dick rofl
no subject
Date: 2009-11-02 09:44 pm (UTC)I told her that it was impossible if she didn't preorder and she was still mad (at me too then lol). She's a huge Shochan fan so I told her to better preorder Yatterman the second we get home and lucky she did that.
Ah, I dun even remember how it started exactly. I just know that KT fans complained that it took KT so long to debut in Johnnys and they were really agressive all of a sudden. They compared KT to other Johnnys bands like SMAP and Arashi, but the bands are pretty different, especially how the bands started off, their style and all that. Somehow they managed to blame Arashi, dun ask me why and of course Jun bitchslapping Jin every other time in Utawara didn't help that LOL actually Jin and Jun are BEST FRIENDS! Jun, jin and Ryo go drinking quite often, as Jun told us in Shonen CLub Premium. The Jun-Jin quarrels are as real as the Nakai-Ohno fights in Utaban, it's just for viewer quotes and fun, I suppose ^^ ANYWHO, the KT fans got all worked up and the Arashi fans fought back and apparently some KT fans bought Arashi con tickets and yelled nasty things at the boys on stage, Aiba - RUMORS - didn't even dare to go back to the one side of the stage cuz there were fans yelling stuff at him like 'idiot' and so on. And another rumor is that KT fans brought knives and cut an Arashi fan during a con. I think Arashi fans also went to KT cons, but I dunno what happened there then. Just a few weeks/months later, some Johnny artists sent out messages to the fans and Riidaa was in charge of writing one parahgraph that was along the lines of 'don't disturb our concerts or securty will come. I will never accept you as our fans'. These letters had quite and impacted and the fight stopped.

Date: 2009-11-03 07:58 am (UTC)almost similar to some stuff that happened in kpop fandom, except.. well, last year during a concert they held (which was supposed to support the unity of South Koreans etc etc) there were huge wars going on between fanclubs. Some fanclubs turned off their glowsticks during the "rivals" songs, and there was an extreme amount of violence. I mean, they're almost like GANGS. Some people got beat up, another girl got her legs broken, I heard some people got raped even, and one person got stabbed. Seriously, WTF??
but you know, I really feel that the way the KT-Arashi incident was handled was very professional and done correctly imo.
I don't know if Ohno was made to do it, or if he did it on his own, however I have kind of an inkling that he wanted to send that message out to the fans. I feel that because he stood up and made it clear that they were not happy about what was going on, it bit it in the bud and it was done for good. "I will never accept you as our fans".. for some reason that just makes me proud of Ohno for sticking up for.. well, everyone ♥

Date: 2009-11-02 09:01 pm (UTC)It's the Korean media. Stupid Netizens are everywhere, but Korea treats them like they actually matter. And then Entertainment Agencies actually take them seriously instead of having the balls to ignore them and go on and do their own thing. Plus there's the fact that Korea doesn't have a healthy enough music industry to foster independent acts unless they're coming from Hongdae or some similar hipster Seoul district, so you get all these people fixating on a handful of idols.
...Actually, let me just say there's a lot of things wrong before this turns out into a rant. Argh, let me just say I wish I could be more into J-Pop. But the music just isn't my taste, and even when it comes to Arashi, I'm more into their Variety shows and Acting and that sort of thing.

Date: 2009-11-03 08:03 am (UTC)But yes. I am reminded very much of 7th grade when I think about what's going on.
And it's ok to be more into Arashi shows! I have a friend who thinks they're music is too happy haha, but she really loved watching their shows.. (although lately I think I have possibly converted her by posting about Arashi all the time rofl)

Date: 2009-11-03 01:17 am (UTC)That was the reason I managed to avoid getting into k-pop for so long. Because I knew that the fanbase (the crazy portion anyway) did some incredibly scary stuff.
It's really too bad too, because the music is really good and many of the artists are seriously talented. :/

Date: 2009-11-03 08:07 am (UTC)It's a total shame because I agree.. some of the music is really good. Which.. is why I think I'm now in it only for the music, and nothing more.

Date: 2009-11-03 07:25 am (UTC)Sorry for my excessive use of BoF gifs in your posts XD
I never really got into the Kpop fandom. I liked the music from BoF, so I'm familiar with a few groups, like SS501, T-max, and SHINee. I also liked 2pm's 'Again and Again'. It was during the whole BoF period when I learned about netizens and 'antis' and stuff, and honestly it really shocked me to learn that such things existed. I mean what the heck is up with all the negativity? It seems tiring. I know Jpop can seem a little cheesey sometimes, but it's almost always happy and fun. It's almost like two totally different ends of the same spectrum. Kpop is good, but I personally wouldn't want to deal with over-judgmental fans/netizens/antis. I've never had any problems with the Arashi fandom
but maybe that's because we're all high on rainbows and sparkles.Every fandom has a few bad seeds, it just can't be helped. But it's really a shame that sometimes people's negativity can ruin a good thing for others.I think I remember hearing about antis poisoning some drink or something and getting someone sick from a Kpop group? Do these people have no conscious? And purposely trying to get people to commit suicide and shizz, I mean, wtf is wrong with these people?
no subject
Date: 2009-11-03 08:05 am (UTC)but yeah.. the poisoning thing was with Yunho from DBSK. Some "anti" pretended to be a fan and gave him a drink that she put superglue into....
he ended up going to the hospital and almost dying.
Apparently there was another incident where some girl posed in a picture with a guy from Super Junior and then posted it up on her online journal. Well, the Suju fanclub (ELF) didn't seem to like that, so they harassed her endlessly. Well SHE ENDED UP COMMITTING SUICIDE BECAUSE OF IT. WTF. And then another incident with a girl group where some anti's chased them in a car trying to run them over.
*SIGH*
it makes me depressed to think about it.
LET'S TALK ABOUT RAINBOWS AND SPARKLES 8D
