Heart bullet tiem~! 8D

Had my last classes on Friday!!! LAST CLASSES. OMG. I AM DONE. WTF?????? What is going on I don't even.

 Last day also included:
  • Free pizza for lunch

  • Free food for dinner

  • Portfolio Day in which professionals came to look at artwork!

  • Snack carts with... you guessed it.. free food!

My school really tries to spoil us in the last couple weeks. Anyway, the portfolio day went alright. I had a few people who genuinely seemed interested in using my work, and they said they would contact me. So that's exciting. I also had a few people who complimented my work, which was awesome as well. However I feel like since I've been through art school, I don't know how to take a compliment on my work anymore. I'm so used to people picking at every little thing to suggest ways to make it better I can't even take a compliment.. argh.. frustrating. Art school really chews you up and spits you out. It makes you think that you are never going to be good enough, and that you will never make it alive in the real world.

Oh well.. 頑張る? ^^;

Went to a going away party for a friend on Saturday. He's going to Yamasa in a few weeks because I suggested it to him and he immediately signed up I hope he has a great time. I am quite jealous as I have been missing Japan like woah lately

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I spent most of my day with my parents. Went over in the afternoon and then we ate lunch. My mom also wanted to make some manjuu, and so we experimented and made red bean filled manjuu. It turned out pretty tasty if I do say so myself After that we ended up watching Arashi shows. Yeah, you heard me. Arashi shows. We watched part of the Himitsu no Arashi-chan that I translated, and then an episode of G no Arashi with the Sugoroku game. It was all kinds of epic.

After that we hung around for a bit and then went to dinner, and that was that. It's been a while since I spent almost a whole day with my parents.. so it was nice.

Monday I worked and man... it was a long day.

Today was interesting 8D I did my vlog like usual, and then Nicole and Bethany came over so we could go over stuff for the Arashi fan-meet that is going on in two weeks YAAYY~! So excited! After we got burnt out from brainstorming, we just hung out for a long time, went to dinner, and then chatted. Relaxing day yay~ But I feel like there's so much I need to be doing I did get a chance to clean a bit today and that made me breathe a bit of a sigh of relief. Too much clutter around here these days

As mentioned before I've been getting extremely emotional about Japan lately. The littlest things remind me of Japan and I get so sad thinking about it and I just want to go back. I was just thinking about what it felt like when I was sitting in my room drinking lovely Japanese drinks with my window open and the TV on to some random news channel. It was.. relaxing. And.. just.. blah. Life seemed so much more simpler over there. It probably wasn't, but that's how it felt. Or maybe it was.

There are certain smells and things that I see that trigger these flashbacks and then I just get really sad. I am trying to avoid watching videos on YouTube of videos in Japan because just watching those makes me remember things! And the fact that my friend is leaving for Japan, I went back on to google maps to send him my map I made of important places and I found out that they did streetview on one of the larger streets of Okazaki and I basically walked down that road again virtually. It was..... just I don't know. I should stop talking about this because I'm going to get depressed again.

But this shouldn't be happening. I shouldn't be getting so sad about this that I get depressed over it!! So frustrated.

I really am going to be working on updating my Japan blog though. Hopefully will start that soon

Anyway, here's the vlog for this week:

Ditto about Japan, especially since it's almost summer :/ I realized that for some reason commercials make me miss Japan the most, so I've been trying to avoid them...but all the Arashi CMs that are popping up everywhere really aren't helping LOL. Hope we both get to go back soon!

firstly, CONGRATS! you're done with school!
secondly, i feel the same way about japan too! esp since summer is around the corner. I filed my okazaki map but even now i can tell you where yamamoto house is, where the karaoke place is and everything else. it's all in my head by now. assuming no more high rises are being constructed that is.

and today.. was really horrid at work. i need my japan fix before i go crazy!

looking fwd to your japan blog though. i think it'll be really interesting to read, but bittersweet as well :x

I really wish I shared your feelings about Japan. Completing a PhD in my field is pretty much contingent upon studying at a Japanese university for a year or so, and I'm not looking forward to it. I hated Okazaki and though it was depressing and the people unfriendly. :(

Wow, so much content in this entry, Egg-chan!

Art school > ko... wai. Congratulations on having completed your program. Your... Arashi Balls... seem so neat. I really can't wait to see the final result. Seriously, Eggu, am very impressed. And I know you just mentioned how receiving a compliment is not easy anymore for you, but... Edith = very impressed and thrilled ^______^

Am sorry to hear how much you miss Japan. You are the second LJ friend of mine who experiences the Japan blues. Hmm... I wonder what it is about Japan that make you all go into a withdrawal phase.
But, I must say, I experienced a little bit of that upon my return from France last fall. And it was such a small trip : 16 days.

Let's do our best? Thanks for the vlogs. Am enjoying them a lot. :)

OMG LAST CLASSES YAY :D it's nice to be spoiled before graduating :] i'm sorry about your compliment conundrum... =_= but i hope something exciting turns up work-wise. :3 i hope getting used to a perspective that harsh in school might be like a vaccine to make you able to handle anything. it's still kind of =_= "thanks...?" though.

YOUR MOTHER'S DAY SOUNDS EPIC. lolololol. i wish i had thought of that.

i don't know what to say about Japan except that you know i know how you feel. TT___TT someday we will find the answers. maybe someday you will even be able to work there for a while. i don't know. TT^TT i hope for the best. ☆

I'm sorry to spam your journal, but youtube is a total BITCH today and responded with error messages every time I tried to comment for the last 15 minutes, so now I'm just commenting here instead. Hope that's okay. v_v"

THAT SHIRT IS SO AWESOME!! *_________* I have two other self-made Arashi shirts, but it's kind of awkward to wear them in daily life because they just scream "huge fangirl". However, yours is kind of subtle but still totally cute at the same time! =D How much do you recon it'll cost?

Awwww that comic! <3<3<3 I'm sure Ohno would be impressed with it. Plus, it being your graduation work is impressing in itself, I think the boys would be glad to hear they inspire their fans in such a way. ^^

Oh, and congratulations on your graduation! :DDDD

heyy~ I saw this comment and thought, "do I know this person..??" and then I realized XD

Thanks for commenting here! YT seems to be doing that a lot lately.. >_< it's really hard for me to comment too sometimes.

I definitely was thinking about that when I was making the designs. I wanted something that was subtle but that other fans would get right away when they saw it :D I also have a design that doesn't have the letters on it, just balloons ^^

As far as cost, I'm sure it won't be more than $40, but I'd like to keep it much lower than that. I'll have to see when the time rolls around ^^

Thank you thank you thank you!! This whole comment is just wonderful I don't even know where to begin ^^

It's kind of amusing just how futago-like we are, sometimes.

"Life seemed so much more simpler over there. It probably wasn't, but that's how it felt. Or maybe it was." My exact thought process, haha.

I know how you feel; I feel the same way whenever I see Japan-related things.
I get depressed about it and then mad at myself for being depressed about it. I know exactly how you feel.

But, if we both work hard and believe, maybe we'll get to meet again in Japan someday! <3
Ganbarou ne!

And congratulations on your graduation!

Ugh, whenever I see certain things, I miss Japan. My best friend goes virtually every year. And it's not that she doesn't work hard to go yearly but like, I can't do nearly what she does to be able to do that. I honestly don't even anticipating going back to Japan until like. 2012~13. :X But if I'm lucky, I can stay there a decent while. So I'll stay positive. LMAO You should too~♥
