Goodbye Parties, Nagoya, and more..

"I got sunshine in a bag" on August 20th, 2001.
I have had this blog for far too long. But that is also one reason why I refuse to change my LJ... it's basically got my entire life from middle school, through High School, College and now. I only wonder what would happen if LJ broke and lost all my entries. D: I don't want to think about it.
Anyway, things have been fairly busy. (Here goes another way too long post cuz I was too lazy to update over the weekend D:) On Wednesday, a friend of mine from class was leaving because it was his last week. *sadface* Actually 2 of my friends left, but T_T. Anyway, he had a going away party and so I decided to join in the festivities and say goodbye to him. Luckily he lives in Japan with his family so I think he is going to come back and visit every so often.

The man of the hour.

This was a takoyaki flavored Ramune. One of the girls brought takoyaki and kimchi flavored ramune. I didn't try the kimchi one, but the takoyaki one wasn't as bad as it sounds lol

Their graduation ceremony :D

This is the other friend who graduated this week. I wouldn't post this picture if it weren't for the fact that my awesome 担任先生 is making the most amazing pose behind us haha. She's the one that loves Yamapi, Daigo, and Matsujun.

Then on Friday there was a 4th of July party that one of the students was holding, which I liked to call "Yay America Party". There was good ol' American food (which gave me a stomach ache, because I ate too much, and also probably because I'm so used to eating Japanese food now lol). Anyway, there were hamburgers (lucky for me the girl who was hosting it was also a vegetarian and made some grilled cheese sandwiches), potato salad, and the most delicious peach cobbler I've ever eaten in my life...

Someone bought poppers and we sang the national anthem and popped them off

Assembling the hamburgers..

Potato salad

Since Japan has a serious lack of hamburger buns, they had to use bread for buns lol

My fork had an awesome face (which I guess used to be owned by
aichijet!)

Eatin' in my Tohoshinki shirt

Most of the people here are not Americans haha. We've got from left to right, France, America, France, America, Hungary, America, Israel, Britain.

She really likes mixing juice with her beer, lol. Oh Nattchan.

Here's us popping poppers XD

The aftermath..

The most delicious peach cobbler I've ever had. (This is the first time I've had it lol. but I hope it won't be the last)
On Saturday, I had planned an outing to Nagoya with
chop_sockey and crew, so we met up at 10am at the train station, and off we went! On our way to Nagoya on the JR, a sumo wrestler got on the train with us, standing about 4 feet away. I felt really bad because I started laughing really hard, but Raechel's reaction was just so priceless, I couldn't stop. I could totally hear the "holy crap" expression sound effect they put on Japanese TV (and Arashi shows) all the time. She managed to be fairly sneaky and get a picture, which I am going to steal for the sake of proving that I was on a train with a sumo wrestler.

When we got there, we had to take a subway to our first stop, and... in our train there was a mentally challenged man sitting all alone in the corner about 3 feet away from us. About 30 seconds before our stop came up, he suddenly started screaming and crying at the top of his lungs, like someone was stabbing him. Of course the rest of the passengers just stood/sat there and pretended that nothing was happening. It was the most frightening and confusing thing I have ever experienced. Let's just say that I was really glad that was our stop lol. Anyway...

Our plan was to start off at a place called "Osu Kannon", which had a temple really close to the station, and also a big outdoor marketplace where we could do some shopping and looking around..

Fortunes. If you get a good one you tie it in hopes that it will stay true, a bad one, and you tie it to keep it away from you.

There was a "store" with an insane amount of vending machines with a crap load of cigarettes that you could buy.

No idea what they were promoting, but we were also trying to figure out what the white thing was and why it was with a cheetah. (I think it's a radish??)

Obligatory Engrish store name. (More to come..)

Yes. Super Monkeyflip. I really don't know.

More of the temple

I wasn't supposed to take this picture apparently. Which is probably why the worker walked in front of me when I took the picture.

We ended up eating at this really fancy restaurant in Nagoya.. they had a lunch salad and I asked if it had meat in it and the waiter said no, but there was bacon under the potato salad lol. Oh well.
I ended up buying a necklace and a yukata at the marketplace, so I was happy. I was set on buying a yukata that I could use at the tanabata festival and also the obon festival. After we finished eating, we went on the subway to our next destination, which I don't remember the name of :( But it was "S.." something lol.

A lot of the subway stations are underground malls as well, which is really weird and cool at the same time. We ended up not even really going up and outside aside from Osu Kannon.. we stayed in the malls, but I want to go back and explore outside a bit as well. Anyway, this one had a big open area where there was a dance competition going on at the time.

I also ended up getting a shirt.. over thingy at the underground mall at a store called "Honey's", which I'll have to take pictures of later, but it was on sale and I liked it :)

The subway was also crazy full of Arashi AU posters/ads. I didn't take many pics of them except this one with Ohno, but when I go back I'll take more pictures I'm sure.

After that we ended up going to a restaurant in the mall. This one had something called "Umetoji", which was like thick noodles in a soup base, with egg and a giant thing of umeboshi on the top. Yum!

And finally a dessert, which.. was not so yummy. That stuff that looks like ice..? Yeah, it's all jelly. :\ I wanted a strawberry cheesecake, but they didn't have it -_-; and 3 other things I tried to get lol. I guess we were a little too late getting it.
And we came home tired and exhausted. My legs and feet hurt SO bad when I got back, I just sat and did just about nothing on Sunday. Aside from some errands and such :) I will take pictures of the Yukata, necklace, and shirt thing soon! Here's more pictures of bakery goods I bought recently.

It was pretty good. A little plain, but tasty. Had a little hint of sweet potato in it.

SO GOOD. It was like a croissant with chocolate drizzled on top, and IN THE MIDDLE. Yummymyyyy
And last night I watched Utaban, which was entertaining, and also Music Lovers with Arashi as the guest! :D It was funny. The guests picked who they thought was the most popular (Matsujun of course), and Arashi also wrote down what they thought. Ohno put down that he thought Sho was the most popular, and his reasoning? "He's really good looking". XD
Okay, I'm out! Love you all, and miss you!
