Arashi panel poster~

Hey guys  So in between working on my senior project, I thought that it would be a good idea to make some flyers for the Arashi panel that I'm hosting... but I need a little help. As you can see, I wanted to have silly pictures of the guys and then have something of their personality or job that is completely opposite of those pictures. But I can't think of anything for Aiba!  Maybe something like "Animal Trainer"~? Lotion helped me with "Elite" for Jun... and if you guys have better suggestions, let me know~

Keep in mind that this is going to be printed in B&W, so that's why most of the colors are super plain

I also somehow ended up in sort of an argument on this post over at [livejournal.com profile] arashi_on... I don't know. Maybe I am crazy about the fanclub thing, maybe I'm the only person who thinks it's worth it if it were available to pay 4,000 yen a year instead of praying to god that somehow I can get a concert ticket again somehow someday, but I guess it's all just wishful thinking on my part. *sigh*

Oh yeah, and vlog for today! Can't believe I'm on #10 already!

For Aiba: Scientist.
Huh? Huuuuh? XD;;

[identity profile] zelflame.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
HAR HAR HAR this gets my vote XD

[identity profile] eggchan.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
haha.. I guess this has the most votes XD I shall go with scientist~ After all, with a face like that how could you NOT be a scientist XD

[identity profile] criyu.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Mh, for Jun I would put the photo of my icon! And i would write something like: manly, professional, stylish... X°D
Mh for Aiba...I don't know XD ...maybe some strange image by Shimizu where he is dressed as animals and under you could write "Scientist" (as bakushou said) or..."brilliant inventor" or someone who always has brilliant ideas...I can't find a single word XD

[identity profile] eggchan.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw a picture of the one you're using in your icon, but there's too much going on around his head that I can't really cut it out :((

but thank you for the suggestions!! ^^

[identity profile] criyu.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Argh, you're right, I guess it's difficultXD
I hope to see the work completed soon. it'is really very nice:)

[identity profile] cherry1989.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
For now, I just can´t find anything for Aiba... Maybe simply "Idol" ? or "Show host" ?
Btw can I take these pics as my desktop background pics?

[identity profile] eggchan.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, you are welcome to ^^ thanks for the suggestions~

[identity profile] coffee-hanjan.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
A lot of Japanese fans refer to Aiba as the "model" of the group (along with Jun) because he's the most photogenic and has many fashion magazine spreads (especially from when he was promoting My Girl). Or "variety show star" or something might work- they used to refer to him as バラエティー担当 or something along those lines.

Just a suggestion ^^

(love how it looks so far, though!) XD

[identity profile] eggchan.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
oohh thank you! And I didn't know that about the バラエティー担当 XD go Aiba!

[identity profile] zelflame.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well whuddya know, I agree with you! I don't mind being a part of the fan club (if I could (・ω・`)). This culture of boyband is sort of...materially oriented anyway, and I guess I just accept that as part of what I can give in order to keep perpetuating all of these wonderful things that make me happy.

Is that messed up? I dunno! But seen as going to a concert is sort of -- in the life plan, I s'pose I'll do whatever I can ;D

HARHAR poster. Lovely. Wish I could be there D: I like "animal trainer" but I also think [livejournal.com profile] bakushou's suggestion of "scientist" is wonderful XD

[identity profile] eggchan.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
well I guess it's good to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way ^^;; Maybe we are in the minority though.

And yes. I have accepted the fact that it is material oriented as well ahahah I wish everyone could be able to go to a concert one day >_<

Thanks for the comment~

Aiba = Miracle Boy? Zookeeper? Birdman? Experimenter?

[identity profile] atrandum.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
masaki.com? LOL XDDDD

or what's that they call him...SUPERSTAR? i think i remember nakai saying that a few times, though he may have been referring to himself (but didn't aiba also? sorry my memory fails)

[identity profile] katzichan.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
meeeep cannot watch video right now will do it later n_n

also, my idea for the aiba of the poster would be... "genius." albeit model could be nice too? :3

ummmm on the whole fanclub thing... yeah, i would totally pay $40/4000yen a year for access to all that. getting a legitimate shot at tickets? um, YES I THINK SO please, that alone is worth it. i would be happy to pay to support my idol obsession in that way if they made it available.

as far as having an international fan club... hello, Japan. the whole, 'it's really easier not to bother' mindset... isolationism continues somewhere in Japan's psyche. it WOULD be a lot of work, but i think there are a lot of fans who would pay for extra official content access, but even beyond that, i think Johnny's just doesn't understand how much there is to gain from it. i have said many times, and continue to believe, that the Japanese music & entertainment industry in general has no idea what they have to gain by marketing more actively beyond their borders, and they have NO idea how to even start doing it right - they could even start small with something like overseas access pages and the amount of work/effort would be pretty minimal... but again, they don't understand the benefits and it just really seems like there's some crazy thing going on in Japan as a whole where they just don't... get... it... some part of my brain wonders if they actually don't want to share because internationalizing would make them un-japanese... i don't know... xenophobia.... ughghghghghgjsdf.
(have i mentioned to you yet that i'm thinking about transferring to international business as a major, and this particular type of issue has a lot to do with why? there's a huuuuuge market that Japan has NO idea how to make work for them because they don't understand the perspective of outsiders.... slkdjflsdkjflkj all the possibilities!)

long comment is long. o_o and probably also rambly.

ps i think it's beautiful how something that's 'just material oriented' has been able to become so much more to so many people. :3 because in the end SO much of the world is material oriented just because you need money to live, anyway... it's just part of the world, everything seems to revolve around money... but if you're able to take that and still give it a heart, then you've won imo. :D the materialism and consumerism become kind of secondary, because in the midst of it you've brought something beautiful into the world :D

Ingrid~ I love you ;_;

Genius works too XD now I am flip flopping between Genius and Scientist. I can't choose!! T___T

I totally agree with you and I actually talked about this a little with TJ last night... Japan has kind of an... elitist point of view at times. I think they don't have international fan clubs because they don't WANT international fan clubs :\\ it's really quite a shame. But I do also think that they have the mindset that it's easier to just not do it. Hell, even if Johnny's/Arashi/J-Pop whatever got as popular as Manga and Anime are in the states, they probably still wouldn't do anything in terms of changing their FC policy etc.

It's unfortunately a sad fate that I am going to have to accept ;_;

But imo, the scalper crap is way worse than any of the other problems in JE and it's getting WAY out of hand. Here's what Johnny SHOULD be doing:

Instead of canceling tickets that they see being sold on auction sites, they should be canceling the membership of the person who is selling it. If they have the seat number information, they will be able to find out what FC member sold the damn thing. If that person is selling their ticket for 80,000 yen, they are obviously in it for the money. PEOPLE WHO JOIN THE FANCLUB TO TAKE TICKETS FROM LEGITIMATE FANS AND RE-SELL THEM FOR RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY ARE HORRIBLE. Poor people who just want to see Arashi are having their hopes and dreams CRUSHED. I'm sorry. That kind of makes me rage... >_>;;

But getting back on topic, NO you haven't told me you are thinking of changing majors!! :O I hope it works out for you if it does~

P.S. This is kind of off topic, but I was snooping around on my YouTube today and apparently more than 1/2 of my fan vlog videos are being watched by people in Japan, and I'm not even speaking in Japanese in 95% of them.. wtf! That's kind of cool though :D

[identity profile] katzichan.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
>w< i love you too~

:o i actually quite like 'scientist' though, because genius is kind of general but scientist is very... Aiba-specific XD

BAGAKSDJFLSKDJFLKsdj so frustrating... Japan i love you BUT....

the scalper stuff IS horrible. (and i think it's pretty frustrating that those people did put stuff on youtube in that post you commented on, because youtube is so public, but in some way despite their dumbness i still like that they wanted to share... unlike JE as a company...)
and i completely agree with your idea. :] whoever gets the tickets just wanted to go and couldn't get a legitimate shot any other way because there are people like that in the fan club... >:\ WTF. how self-centered do you have to be in order to carry out a scheme like that? if you kick them out of the fc for that kind of behavior you solve the problem (they get what they deserve) AND it makes room for more fans! :3

omggg that's so neat. :> go you~! ♥
