Okay I realize that I haven't really been posting in here as a person journal as of late. I just find that doing these translations gives me something to do -- something useful.. Sorry to my f-list in advance

Lotion and I made a vegetarian version of katsudon today. We kind of just made it up as we went, but it turned out pretty good! *high fives self* Honestly, I was watching MMA recently, and Ohno and Aiba had a don battle. Ohno made oyakodon and Aiba made katsudon. Looking at it made me so hungry for it... so that's where that came from

Well, anyway.. I bring Ohno's part of the Potato interview I've been working on.

[2009 – 3 Big News]

3 huh… appearing on NEWS ZERO during “Arashi Challenge Week”, the tour, and Uta Oni (Uta Onii-san). The memory of talking with Yoshitomo Nara-san on NEWS ZERO has really stuck with me. Our conversation was about drawing, but him talking about having artists block but continuing to draw… there’s a lot of my own opinions and places to have commonness with, and I feel that artists all are the same. I was happy about that, and Yoshitomo-san was more amazing than anything (laugh). It was the first time I met someone with such a beautiful heart. It seems that Yoshitomo-san also doesn’t really like appearing with people on TV. But on his blog he wrote like he had fun, so I’m also happy about that. I was surprised when I saw the news show building. They’re given sudden changes in the manuscript without warning… ah, I think that would be a disaster if it was me (laugh). I really admire and think that Sho-kun who deals with that is amazing. Also, when I appeared on “Miyane Heya”, the meeting head Miyane-san said that he was a fan of mine, and I was really happy and surprised that he knew about me all the way from my days in Kyoto.

The concert is… of course I always feel the warmth of the fans. I also won’t forget the rain on the third day of the Kokuritsu concert (I won’t either Ohno T_T *sobs* … thanks for looking at me), and I was moved that even though it was raining that much, people didn’t go home. There were also three microphones that broke because of the rain. If it had snowed, it probably would have been cancelled. I’m really glad that we were able to do it until the very end. (me too. thank you ♥) The dome performances are pretty spread apart, so I’m worried that I’ll forget the song order and dances (laugh). I want a lot of fans to see the remaining stages that we’ll perform on, and while I’m singing I’ll fish a lot~ (laugh).

The biggest thing from doing the drama “Uta no Onii-san” was having the pleasure of meeting the staff and co-workers. I’m happiest that the older staff said to me that they were really glad that they could work with me. 10 years has passed for Arashi, and as for a prize for myself? I don’t need one. Because, I feel that these 10 years are my prize, and it’s almost scary how blessed we are (laugh).

[Looking back on the year 2009]

{Rather than commenting on the February issue of 2009, I did a drama for 3 months, and I want to draw a big picture, go on a trip, and then dance in my own way}

Well, any way you put it, I’m satisfied, and achieved a lot. On my trip I went fishing in Okinawa, Tsushima, and Miyake Island, and enjoyed myself. I’m in the middle of a small drawing like the seahorse one at my exhibition, and I think I’ll put the finishing touches with the colored pencils that Ogura-san gave me.

[Current State]

The drama “The Last Promise”… there’s not very many scenes where the members are involved together… my character is a garbage man… I haven’t really grasped my character yet. Well, I’ll say my lines properly (laugh). (Talking about the proposal from Sho-kun) (I haven't translated this part yet, sorry!) Chrismas… that’s interesting! If it was me, I would totally buy an ornament that I wouldn’t want to put in my house (laugh). Yeah, on the day that Arashi debuted, we got together to eat. Sho-chan got drunk. He talked, laughed, and he couldn’t focus his eyes… that instant I saw him I thought, “This person… is drunk” (laugh). It’s the first time I’ve been with these people for 10 years, so it’s been interesting and they’re as cute as kids.

This confirms that meeting Yoshimoto Nara has left a profound effect on Ohno. I just noticed that after the News Zero interview, Ohno often gives shout outs to Nara on his radio program, and Nara mentions in his blog that they call each other. Also, Ohno in interviews done after Challenge week, seem to mention art more and fishing a bit less (although this could be because of the cold weather), even mentioning that he will take care not to get too tanned. I was thinking, what is this, more self-awareness all of a sudden, or an increased interest in art? I am so glad that Ohno has met somebody who can help him in his artistic growth as he is mostly self-taught, and idols do not usually have contacts with those in the art world. But Ohno is also an artist deep inside, so he needs the contact with fellow artists.

Also, I love how Ohno is so down-to-earth as he appreciates all the good things happening to him. Also, I like how he has appreciated doing dramas, just for the pleasure of interacting with co-workers and staff. I hope this encourages him to working on more dramas as his talent is such that it would be an unfortunate thing if it is not showcased more.

Talk about, ' Arashi Challenge Week' I think it's really amazing that Oh-chan appeared in News Zero, don't you think? and he even met the famous artisit like Nara-san. ^^ I think Oh-chan must be really really happy that he had a chance to meet and talked to him. It wasn't a long talk with him, but I think Oh-chan was really satisfice with that short period of time already. and I have never thought that the rest of Arashi will be talking and reported news in Zero. That's really cool :D

And of course the concert, how cool could it possibly be that Arashi got to have a concert again in Kurkuritsu for three days. It was the best moment ne ^^ I'm happy for you that you got to go to their concert. :) Even though the third day was raining, but everyone still keep going until the end. That must be really hard to sing in a rain and glad that Arashi didn't get sick too ne :) But good that everyone has a great time together :D

Then in 2009, Oh-chan had a drama, 'Uta no Onii-san' that was a cute drama too and Oh-chan had to wear all kinds of animal costume. That's must be hard for him and hot too, but he did a great job ne ^^

And then Arashi's Special Drama,'the last promise' that is a really good SP drama. I really like it a lot and of course the theme song too. ^^ It's very intersting SP drama. ^^ I hope that Arashi will have a SP drama or maybe a movie together again. It would be nice if all five of them have a series drama together :D That would make me really really happy. :D

Arashi celebrated their ten years togethr ne that's sound a lot of fun ne and it seems like Sho-chan got drunk, although Oh-chan said he still cute like a little kid anyways ^^ I'm sure they have a great time together. Eventhough they're busy, but they still have time to celebrate and relax a bit. I think that's pretty good. ^^
