Phew, I'm back!

It was an interesting weekend. Had it's ups and downs. Spent way too much on magazines (will go into that later) and Japanese drinks/sweets. Fhwah.

I wanted to post because there were a few things I wanted to get down here before I forget.

1. I am hoping/planning on running an Arashi panel at next year's Anime Detour (April 23-25). Anyone in the MN area or going to Detour interested on being on the panel?? I think it will be awesome and fun and.. I'm not sure what to do with the short amount of time! There's so much to go over! The sparkles! The rainbows! Where will I fit it all??

2. I am also hoping/planning on doing an Arashi Fan Meet sometime this month. Again, those of you in the MN area (I know I've met a couple more on LJ who would be/are interested in going) :D let me know if you want to go! I think this time since we'll have quite a few more people than last time (like.. at least 4 or 5 more people I think??), we have some events and things to plan instead of it being an impromptu meeting. *excited!* :D Am thinking the weekend of the 23rd? (2 weeks). I wonder if that's too early D: But I don't want it to collide with Halloween. Or do I?

3. I translated an article from this month's Wink Up, featuring Ohno :D

Please don't take this out of my journal without my permission.

For some reason, translating whole paragraph interviews are harder, but I feel I did well on translating ^^
Enjoy!

For the shoot today I asked after we take a walk downtown, I thought it’d be nice to take a ride on a yakatabune (Japanese style roofed boat). Somehow, I think people have that feeling of me. (laugh) Of course, when talking about a yakatabune, I remember “Pika☆nchi”. That time… it was Arashi’s third year. It’s been 6 years since then… I’m a little surprised. The yakatabune scene was all filmed on a set, so we had to make it look like we were on a real boat, and it was only once. Just the scene where we dived out was the real location. But… we took a regular boat to the yakatabune, so we were only on the top of it. So, after 6 years I finally was able to ride on a real yakatabune (laugh).

But… 6 years already… it’s so fast. Of course it would feel fast. It’s amazing… that they would let me do my solo cover on a boat with such memories. I mean, our first coverage was Wink Up. That time, even now I remember it. They let me choose a new hairstyle (laugh). I was made to wear a sweater up to here (points to jaw line), and my hair style would be something like this… (makes a “middle-part” gesture with his hand). Then, when I went to school, a girl in the same class as me slammed that Wink Up down. She said to me, “I saw it”… I was found out (laughs). But right after that, there was a time when I wasn’t in any magazines at all… There was a time when I was in Kyoto (for “Kyo to Kyo” a stageplay he was cast as a regular in 1997 -- see a really '90's clip of it HERE), and I occasionally they had me make appearances, but for about 3 months, there was a time when I didn’t have any work. So, there were also times when they wrote, “Long time no see!”. (laughs) But you know, since I’ve been with Arashi, we appeared every single month. Truthfully, when I think about that, I think 10 years is amazing.

In these 10 years, we’ve gained things, and we’ve lost things, right…? What is it, I wonder? Things lost are… my A blood-type. I’ve lost it a little (laughs). After all, in the beginning, I was very A blood-type-like. I worried… and always had an uneasiness, you know? I was fairly punctual, and I was pretty cleanly. That… has disappeared now (laughs). I wonder how much I have changed. I don’t know. Of course, it’s probably because I’ve had a lot of experiences now. I have that confidence, and what else… isn’t it the way I think? I even think myself that I’ve changed. If I think about it now, I wonder why I was so worried and uneasy like that. Isn’t it stupid?... I think (laugh). So, now I’m a little easygoing. Well, my A blood-type-like features have disappeared, but aren’t those things that I’ve gained? Things such as encounters. They’re really increasing, with the people in this world. Simply, thinking over 10 years, it’s been a lot, and doing this job… it’s been a lot. I’ve been able to do a lot of different jobs, and during that, there have been a lot of people… good people.

Especially recently, I really think. Like the staff from my exhibition, or from my stage plays and dramas, even now I go out and drink with them and stuff. It feels like I’ve known them for a long time. Things like that, I think that I’ve really changed. In that past, I didn’t really do things like that. Because I didn’t really like hanging around with people in the industry (laughs). Now, I’m happy because it’s fun, they’re happy to work with us, and they say they want to work with us again. Even when that work is over, we would go out as drinking buddies… somehow… I really feel blessed.

Yeah, it’s been a really good 10 years! Somehow, the second half, these past 2~3 years have felt extremely fast. Now, we’re welcoming our 10 year anniversary and I’m really looking forward to doing our tour from August until January, continuing to enter into our eleventh year. Again, there’s a lot of things I wonder about. My goals for the eleventh year? Umm… I want to take it slowly (laughs). I want to simply go about things. If things are too uproarious, that’d be bad. Calm down, and do it simply! That’s the most important (laughs).

Hope you enjoyed~
